Starting a law practice at LawBank helped this new lawyer connect and grow his firm

He is the founder of MW Legal Group. He has been a LawBank member since October of 2020 at the CoBo location. A natural entrepreneur, he knew that upon graduation from the University of Colorado Law School, he would want to start his own business law practice.
Miles first learned of LawBank through the Career Development Office. When Miles joined LawBank, he remembers feeling nervous and excited. He knew that he had a great opportunity at LawBank but wasn’t sure how it would go.
The LawBank community welcomed Miles with open arms. LawBank owner and seasoned commercial real estate attorney, Jay Kamlet, was instrumental in helping to push him along in engaging with the other lawyers in the community. Miles also found guidance in working with one of LawBank’s marketing and business development vendors that helped him map out a strategy for his practice and even made other introductions to lawyers looking for contract work.
He was introduced to a business attorney in the LawBank community that provided three months of contract work that immediately brought in income to his firm. He recalls, “It was being at the right place at the right time. I saw him down the hall, and I introduced myself. I asked if he had room for some contract work. This opportunity came from just passing each other in the hallway.”
Over the past year, Miles has continued to be an active member of the LawBank community, providing one-off and hourly contract services to other attorneys. He has continued to engage in regular contract work providing steady income as he builds his business law clientele. He loves working with the other business attorneys benefitting from their guidance and mentorship along the way. When asked about how LawBank has helped him start his legal practice and the opportunities that the community provides, Miles shared, “It is what you want it to be and what you make it.” He is a great example of the benefits of starting off a law practice and legal career at LawBank can pay off many times over.
