LawBank Receives “Inclusiveness@Work” Award from the Center for Legal Inclusiveness
LawBank was proud to accept the “Inclusivess@Work” Award in the Business and Corporation category at the Center for Legal Inclusiveness’s annual Ball for All Gala. The Gala was held virtually on May 1, 2021 and served as a celebration for organizations and individuals creating more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplaces in Colorado and beyond.
The Center for Legal Inclusiveness is a Colorado-based nonprofit whose mission is to advance diversity in the legal profession by educating and supporting private and public sector legal organizations’ campaigns to create cultures of inclusion. CLI offers programs and workshops to individuals and organizations committed to creating inclusive workplaces that sustain diversity in the legal profession. Each year, the Center for Legal Inclusiveness honors community members’ work in advancing diversity and inclusiveness at the CLI Ball for All Gala. They take this time to present awards in five categories, including: Business/Corporate, Individual, Law Firm/Legal Department, Young Professional, and Nonprofit/Government/Community Organization. The Ball for All Gala is a free community event where all are welcome to join in celebrating the advancement of diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal profession.
Since its inception, LawBank has been committed to a diverse and inclusive business model. LawBank is proud to provide a safe, professional, and ethical law firm community for lawyers from all walks of life. Nineteen percent of LawBank members reported that they identify as being part of a minority community, including diversity in race, ethnicity, gender identity, ability, and sexual orientation. LawBank is a sponsor of Colorado Women Owned Law Firms (WOLF) and donates office space to Legal Entrepreneurs for Justice, a nonprofit that helps attorneys start socially conscious law firms that help provide access to justice for underrepresented populations. Additionally, LawBank offices welcome and embrace diverse clients, offering multilingual receptionists the ability to communicate with a variety of visitors. In the words of LawBank co-founder Jordan Deifik, LawBank is “a place where diversity, inclusivity, and equity are not only actualized but are considered core strengths.”
