First American has prepared a CLE accredited course to discuss mechanic’s liens for the real estate sections (and others interested) of law firms in Denver. The course will last one hour, and lunch will be provided. It has been approved for 1 General CLE credit.
The discussion will cover;
1) how the law works, and relevant statutes,
2) how our coverages work, and additional information on endorsements,
3) how underwriting is handled, and what types of information can facilitate the process,
4) and finally address any questions.
There is also developed robust reference materials that I will provide for attendees. These include the outline and presentation, statutes, endorsements, Lenders policy jacket, and a Mechanic’s Lien quick reference guide.
This will be a presentation based on Colorado law in the context of a new construction (any questions related to other states and contexts are more than welcome). This way, the most difficult law (in favor of lien claimants in CO) and coverages can be addressed.
